In Chapter 3 of What Does it all Mean?(“Other Minds”) Thomas Nagel raises the possibility of conscious machines (what we call ‘AI’—‘Artificial Intelligence’).  What ethical issues are connected to this possibility?   What would it mean if computers were conscious?  Would we have ethical obligations related to AI?  Would AI have ethical obligations? Why or why not?
